A picture is worth a thousand words
But a picture is all I have
Memories are all I have
Mom, what I wouldn't do
To exchange one more word with you
Bittersweet tears run down my cheeks
I remember the joyous times
I remember the painful times
Time.
All of it precious
What a wouldn't give for a little more
With you
To feel your arms around me today
To see you smile
To sing "Happy Birthday"
What I wouldn't do, Mom
To be with you.
I love you.
Still.
Always.
But a picture is all I have
Memories are all I have
Mom, what I wouldn't do
To exchange one more word with you
Bittersweet tears run down my cheeks
I remember the joyous times
I remember the painful times
Time.
All of it precious

Oh Emily...I hear your heart today. I know what it feels like to long for those we love who have gone on to be with Jesus ahead of us!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could hold you right now...like your mother would. Or like a grandmother. I would love to try to help you feel the warmth of her tender hug.
But here is a cyber {{Hug}}... and a prayer is going up on your behalf.
Sweet Emily, your mom is having her Birthday with Jesus...and that is a wonderful thought. Even those beautiful flowers she is holding in her picture, can't compare with the beauty she is living in. And do remember that she is "alive" honey...and you will be with her for all of eternity. I will love meeting her.
I know one thing...she has a lovely daughter in you Em...And in your sis...and a fine son in your brother. She has a legacy living on... here on the earth. And she is so proud of you, and she loves you all....forever and always.
